2011 News Letter

The Year started off with a big bang in February , with the Sunday afternoon 4 band big Bash. This BIG event was held @ Ingleburn RSL.

The afternoon was a great success, with all profits going to The Salvation Army , Queensland Flood Relief.

There were 4 Bands & a DJ that donated their time, making the afternoon a big success, the bands being

Mr James, Matchbox, Midnight Shift & The Rockin Rebels.

Great Music & was  in the breaks ,by DJ & MC Laurie "D" Legend

A big thanks goes out to the Countless number of people who helped, & also donated gifts, for prizes.

The event could not have been held, if not for the generosity of    Ingleburn RSL , who donated the hall, sound & lighting, & staff

There was OVER 300 rockers attended, making this the biggest Rock'n'Roll dance event, ever attempted @ Ingleburn RSL

The crowd danced & donated all Afternoon. The music was excellent, the bands giving the dancers a taste of their different style as they all performed. The afternoon concluded with a Jam Session. The bands, all got together & played their rendition of

"A Long Way To The Top" , complete with Bag Pipers from the Ingleburn Bag Pipers Club. Mind Blowing

The Salvation Army had one for their representatives attend the night & was presented with cash totalling $5317.

    What a GREAT Effort

   MARCH 2011

The first Dance Social for 2011 @ Ingleburn RSL was held on 11th March. The Band was Mr James. Steve & The Guy's from the band, pumped the hall full of great Rock'n'Roll Music, giving everyone an opportunity to dance, dance, dance. Another great night out

March  saw a group of Big Als students, who joined the many others,  travelling to Hunter Valley, for The Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival. The Weekend event was full of Old Cars, Memorabilia, Rock'n'Roll Bands, & offcourse,  plenty of dancing.

The Town of Kurri Kurri, is full of history, & has been painted (on every blank wall) with murals of time gone by. A great venue for this event. Thousands of people travel to  the town to take in, some of the action. Bands perform all day, on stage, both in the street & Park. There was a dance floor in front of the stages, where dancers can strut their stuff, showing off their own style of Rock'n'Roll, Rock-a-Billy & Swing. Night time brings a flurry of venues where you can eat & party, all having Bands to dance too. If you didn't get there this year, put it on your things to do list, next year.

APRIL 2011

Early April, saw our Demo Team, entertain onlookers at The Camden Show. This was our first scheduled demonstration for 2011. As usual the guy's gave the crowd a great performance, of Rock'n'Roll & Swing. Well done guy's. A few happy snaps are posted.

MAY 2011

Our Second big Dance @ Ingleburn was held on Friday 29th May. This time we had a Melbourne Band. "The Blackhill Ramblers" These guy's entertained the many Rockers (around 200) with their unique style of Country Rock, Rock'n'Roll, Rock-a-Billy & Swing. The floor was full to capacity, all night. Both the Monte Carlo & the Raffle was won by the same couple (their names being suppressed, due to  their new found wealth) , making it a great night out for them. What a lucky streak.
